How do we work?
Not Just Dogs always like to meet with prospective clients and their pets before agreeing to undertake a service. This way, we fully understand your requirements and ensure we are able to provide the best level of care. You also get to meet us in person and know to whom you are entrusting your precious pet.
We'll come to your home at a convenient time for you and bring along forms to capture everything about your pet, its habits, likes/dislikes, favourite toys/games (don't worry, it doesn't take too long!). Naturally, we also take down all the important details about your pets' medical history, vet and emergency contacts. We do this for all pets and all services.
If keys are assigned, then these will be jointly signed for and returned at the end of the service agreement or before if required. All keys are securely held at Not Just Dogs.
There is no fee payable for key holding or the initial 'getting to know you' meeting.
We will provide copies of the CRB check and references during the meeting. Home inspections are encouraged for those wishing to place dogs in day care at Not Just Dogs.

Dog Walking
We welcome all dogs of all ages and all energy levels on our walks. Walks are in the local parks/woods surrounding East Molesey and Esher and are usually for one hour (excluding travelling time), but naturally we are happy to accommodate shorter walks for golden oldies or dogs with specific needs.
We take no more than 4 dogs at a time - this permits us to give the dogs all the attention/playtime they need so that they return home tired and contented, ready to sleep the afternoon away. All dogs will be walked on the lead, unless you give us express permission to let them off and of course, we'll need to ensure that all dogs off the lead have good recall.
If you prefer, dogs can be walked on a one to one basis.
We do operate a walking service on Saturdays and Sundays, as we are aware that sometimes dogs just can't join you on shopping trips, the zoo or into the office, no matter how much they would like to.
Not Just Dogs are also happy to fill in for your regular dog walker while they are on their well-earned holiday. Please let us know a couple of days in advance so that we can book a slot.
Dog Day Care
We offer an occasional 'creche' service for dogs that prefer to have company during the day. Dogs are collected between 7.30am to 8am and brought to Not Just Dogs, where they will have access to a 100ft secure garden, with lots of squirrels, play toys and their own comfy cushion to lounge on. There are two resident dogs - one a grand senior of 18 years old, the other a 7 year old. Both are friendly, non-aggressive and love new chums to play with.
Your dog will have a minimum of 1 walk per day. Dogs are dropped off between 17.30 to 18.00 to await your return. We are happy to feed and provide medication if need be.
Please note, we only accommodate one dog at a time and only dogs that are housetrained.
Home Visits - Cats
Cats being the independent creatures that they are sometimes don't like to be uprooted to spend their holiday in a cattery. They can pine and worst of all, sulk when they come back home! Cats that have spent time in a rehoming centre can be particularly sensitive to more changes and it is far kinder to leave them at home, with the minimum of disruption.
Not Just Dogs can visit your cat at home once or twice a day to feed, water, play and pamper your puss. Visits will also include cleaning litter trays, bringing in mail, watering plants, opening/closing curtains and performing general security checks.
Home Visits - Small Animals
Having volunteered for a Wildlife charity, we are used to handling/feeding/cleaning a diverse range of creatures, great and small from mice to rabbits, tiny baby birds to owls.
We offer one to two visits per day to clean, feed and water your pet ? and the odd cuddle if permitted!
Birds can be cared for in your home or alternatively at Not Just Dogs.
Pond Care
A pond owner for many years, with a great number of prized fish, newts and water lilies, we are happy to tend to your pond to keep it in pristine order including : clearing leaves/debris, feeding fish, clearing pumps/filters and ensuring netting/wires are in place to keep herons/foxes at bay.
